Anglepoise

In 1932, British automotive engineer George Carwardine came up with the formula for a new type of spring mechanism. It was originally intended to be part of a vehicle suspension, but then it clicked. Positionable at any angle with a light touch, this elegant and responsive invention would work perfectly in a lamp. That day in George's garden shed, the design for the legendary Anglepoise was born. Since then, the Terry family, the founders of Anglepoise, have overseen the evolution of Anglepoise style over the past eight decades, always remaining true to their quirky spirit.
Anglepoise lamps can be found in homes, offices, hotels and garden houses all over the world, and they are even passed down from generation to generation.
